Manuka Honey – a unique gift from Nature.
Manuka Honey comes from the native New Zealand Manuka shrub (Leptospermum scoparium) that has grown wild in this pristine, rugged landscape for over 80 million years. Due to the unique isolation of New Zealand, the New Zealand flora and fauna has been able to develop in a unique way. The native Manuka tree (Leptospermum scoparium) grows from a shrub to a large tree. Over the years, Manuka honey has become especially known for its unique, high-quality and natural bio-activity. The Maori already used the Manuka Bush because of its unique properties. Thomas Cook introduced the first honey bees to New Zealand in 1839. The unique properties of Manuka Honig have been known for years, but why it is so unique was only discovered in 2006.
Manuka Honey specialists
MNZ proudly produces bee products in New Zealand. Our bee products are harvested, processed and packaged in our own facility in New Zealand where we meet the strict requirements of New Zealand and the MPI. Our authentic raw, monofloral honey is characterized by purity and quality. Our wooden hives are located in one of the most pristine areas in New Zealand to minimize interaction with humans. In addition, our focus is on working in harmony with nature and ensuring that our bees are never short of anything.
At MNZ, our bees are the most important force behind the beautiful, raw and monofloral Manuka Honey. As a result, we pay extra attention to our bee colonies to ensure that they can make Manuka honey in peace. Our beekeepers ensure that the bees are sufficiently protected.
Because our wooden beehives are in one of the most pristine areas of New Zealand, there is very little risk of herbicides and pesticides being present in the environment. We rigorously test our Manuka honey and make sure it is free from herbicides, pesticides, antibiotics and other contaminants.
